An ivory-ground Turkoman carpet hand-knotted in Kabul — a lighter take on the classic Bokhara, which usually runs deep red. Rows of rosette guls alternate red and navy across the field, divided by columns of stepped panels and small cypress forms. Layered borders in navy, madder and green frame the piece.
The pale ground opens up a room where a red-ground rug would close it in.
