Hand-knotted in Kabul on a charcoal-black ground, this Bidjar-design carpet carries a full lattice of palmettes, cypress trees and trailing vine in gold, saffron, sky blue and rust — with small animal figures woven along the lower field. The ivory main border sets the dark field off sharply and keeps the piece from reading heavy.
Vegetable-dyed (چوب رنگ) hand-spun wool, knotted one row at a time over several months. The muted, layered tones are a direct result of natural plant dyes rather than chemical colour.
