Are these rugs really handmade?
Yes — every piece is hand-knotted in wool in Afghanistan. Every listing includes a video of the exact piece: front, back, and a close-up of the pile, where hand-knotting is impossible to fake.
Why does delivery take 2–5 weeks?
Your rug ships from Kabul, Afghanistan — hand-picked in the bazaar, packed in the shop, and carried across half the world. Insured, tracked, and worth the wait.
Will the colors match the photos?
We photograph in daylight and film every piece so you can see it as it really is. Screens still vary slightly — the video is the closest thing to standing in the bazaar.
What if my rug arrives damaged or isn't what I ordered?
Send photos within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right — a replacement or a full refund. Every shipment is insured and photographed before sealing.
Can I return a rug I simply don't love?
Sending a rug back to Afghanistan isn't realistic, so all sales are final except for damage or a wrong item. That's why we show video, exact measurements, and honest condition notes before you buy — and answer any question before you order.
Are these Persian rugs?
No — and that matters. Genuine Persian (Iranian) rugs cannot legally be imported into the US. Our rugs are Afghan (Turkish pieces coming soon): the closest weaving traditions in the world, fully legal to import, and treated as a premium origin in their own right. We never sell Iranian-origin pieces.
Is each rug really one of a kind?
Yes. Each listing is a single physical rug with its own piece code (like AF-0032). When it sells, the listing comes down. No restocks — that's the nature of handmade.
How do I care for a hand-knotted wool rug?
Vacuum gently without the beater bar, rotate it twice a year, blot spills immediately with a damp cloth, and give it professional cleaning every few years. Wool is forgiving — these rugs are made to be walked on for decades.
