An indigo-ground Shirvan carpet hand-knotted in Kabul, its field shifting between deep navy and soft slate as the natural dye lots change across the weave. Ivory, madder red and gold palmettes step down the centre, framed by hooked cloudbands and serrated leaves. The ivory border carries a procession of floral cartouches.
Vegetable-dyed (چوب رنگ) hand-spun wool, knotted one row at a time over several months. The shifting tone across the field — abrash — is the mark of hand-spun yarn and natural dye lots, not a flaw.
